1. Who we are

Pepbite is operated by Daniela Šimková. Contact: privacy@pepbite.com. Pepbite is a wellness tracker, not a medical device, and does not give medical advice.

2. Data that stays on your device

Your records — medications and doses, weight and measurements, meals you log, symptoms, notes, progress photos and your scan history — are stored only on your iPhone, protected by iOS. We cannot access them. Your device backups may include them. You can export or delete them in the app.

Apple Health data you choose to share is only read on your device. It is never written back or sent anywhere.

3. Data we process

Account (optional): your Sign in with Apple identifier and email address (this may be an Apple private relay address). An account is needed for AI scanning and subscriptions. We keep it until you delete your account.
Subscription: your subscription status, so we can provide paid features. Payment is handled by Apple; we never see your card details.
AI meal scan: with your consent, the meal photo (with location and other metadata removed) is sent for analysis. It is not stored by us or by the AI provider. The result is kept briefly on our server so it can be recovered if your connection drops, then deleted. Your medications, weight and other records are never sent with it.
Technical records: for each AI analysis we keep a short record — time, AI model used, whether the request succeeded or failed, processing cost and the account it belongs to. It contains no photo and no meal content. We keep it for a limited time to keep the service stable, fix errors, control costs, enforce fair-use limits and prevent abuse.

4. Service providers

We use service providers only to run the app: for sign-in, subscriptions, hosting and network, and AI meal photo analysis (with zero data retention). Some are located outside the EU, including in the US; where required, transfers are protected by safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. No advertising or tracking

We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs, do not track you across apps or websites, and never sell or share your data for advertising.

6. Your choices and rights

You can decline or withdraw AI scanning consent at any time; manual logging keeps working.
You can delete your account in the app. This deletes your account data on our servers and at our subscription provider. It does not cancel an Apple subscription — manage that in iOS Settings.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR), you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to its processing, and you can complain to your data protection authority. Email privacy@pepbite.com.

Legal bases (EU/UK): providing the service you signed up for, your consent for AI scanning, and our legitimate interest in security and stability.

7. This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. Our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse.

8. Age

Pepbite is intended for adults (18+).

9. Changes

We will post updates on this page and change the date above.
